Cookies and how we use them

Cookies (and similar technologies, such as web pixels, tags, GIFs and beacons) are commonly used on the majority of professional, high quality websites. They are tiny files that improve your experience by being downloaded to your device. Some cookies (known as session cookies) expire and are deleted when your website session ends. Others remain on devices after the end of a session so that they can be referred to the next time the same website is visited.

We use cookies for a variety of reasons, such as being able to remember when you have registered and are logged in, to help us know how our website is performing and operating and to allow us to improve how the website performs.

Some cookies are strictly necessary and can’t be turned off, as they’re used for identity, security, fraud protection and other functions. Some cookies are for performance, they help websites and apps to do what you ask it to do. Other cookies are personalised and designed to save you time. If you decide not to leave these personalised cookies on, you’ll still see adverts, but they won’t necessarily be for products or services that are of interest or relevant to you.

We may use some cookies (and similar technologies) that are provided by trusted third parties, for example, to allow us to know if you have used our service to find travel options before making a booking on a third party operator or provider’s website or to allow advertisers to display targeted adverts.

Disabling Cookies

Cookies help website providers to understand and improve the experience of users. You have the option of turning cookies off, though this is likely to affect the experience as some website functions and features won’t work as well or potentially not at all on any website that uses cookies.

Cookies can be disabled by changing the settings on a web browser. The Help section of your browser will explain how to do so.

Google Analytics

One of the most used and trusted analytics solution for helping websites understand how users interact on websites is Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to help us improve user experiences by knowing things like how long users tend to spend on different pages; this helps us know things like which pages are most popular and are easy to use.
